Summary of my experiences

• More than 10 years’ experience in marketing and business development petroleum software and training courses. Expert in seismic attributes and professional in seismic inversion for prediction rock properties using different softwares hambson ruessel, opendtect, IHS kingdom , trainer for more than 35 courses in different international companies.

• worked as Technical Geophysicist in IPS Egypt agent for IHS kingdom software and FFA GeoTeric in Egypt and also senior advisor for kingdom software in IPS company Egypt from 2008 to 2016.

•Creating initiative seismic interpretation workflow using seismic attributes(master degree in seismic attributes ) , training alot of clients from different countries for using seismic attributes and seismic inversion , instructors for more than 15 courses for seismic interpretations and seismic attributes multinational clients (Libya,Yemen,Saudi,Iran,Iraq,Egypt,Tunis,kuwaite,..)

• Training clients for using IHS kingdom software(3d interpretation, geologic interpretation,data management (WadiAlsahl, Novatik,Ve gas ,sea dragon,Sipetrol,HBS,Dana gas,Petro Sila)

•Excellent troubleshooting and multitasking skills to cover subjects from Installation of KINGDOM to Data Loading, 3D visualization and interpretation and system performance analysis.

• Geosciences online consultant for different nationalities professional geophysicists

• My interested field is seismic interpretation using seismic attributes and how seismic attributes help to make QC on processing and try using poststack processing to enhance seismic attributes results

Seismic attributes not magic

A lot of geo-scientist represent seismic attributes like magic wand that can solve all complex  seismic interpretation problems, seismic attributes need very good workflows and should have good and known physical meaning, some geo-scientist build fault interpretation workflow depend on curvature attributes and applying this attributes without any preconditioning   and without know the direction of faults or understanding different between strike or dip curvature, negative or positive curvature ,Curvature attributes are excellent attributes but it is the most sensitive attributes for noise effect .

Another mistake when geo-scientist use window attributes between horizons or along time slice usually when attributes used for channels they used window attributes and forget the contamination from noise or from unimportant geological features, there are a lot of window attribute like RMS, AVERAGE ENERGY, ENVELOPE, NEGATIVE, POSITIVE,… etc. seismic interpreters should to know of the properties of the interested geo-bodies .

Many geo-scientist use seismic attributes without understanding relation with their targets, they used attributes to detect geo-bodies or identify reservoir properties and forge seismic attributes can led to wrong direction (misleading), geo-scientist told me they used many attributes to detect target but they didn't understand what is physical meaning of them.

One of important development tools in seismic attribute analysis is flying test that can help interpreter to test seismic attributes parameter before applying in all volume this really amazing properties and interactively you can test all parameters of seismic attributes , it is recommend to all geo-scientist to test parameter before applying seismic attribute to all volumes.

The famous question what is best seismic attribute for my target , really it is difficult question all my trainees asked this question , the answer is simple start from simple and understandable attributes there are no rule but there are experiences, start from similarity attributes to detect edge of geo-bodies or structures features, start with envelope and average energy, sweetness for detect hydrocarbon , start from acoustic impedance, envelop, frequency, amplitude for lithology.

سي أن سي راوتر تستخدم لقص الخشب والمواد الخفيفة
السي أن سي (CNC) هي إختصار لـ(Computer Numerically Controlled machine) أي (ماكينة يتم التحكم بها رقمياً بإستخدام الكمبيوتر). وكما يوحي الإسم فإن حركاتها تتم بواسطة أوامر من الكمبيوتر بدل التحكم اليدوي.

دعونا الآن نعود إلى أصل الحاجة للـCNC

ربما رأيت من قبل حرفيين يستخدمون المنشار والمقدح وينحتون بشكل يدوي على الخشب. أو إذا كنت مهتم بالصناعة فربما رأيت محترفي تشكيل معادن يستخدمون المخارط والفرايز اليدوية لإخراج قطعة ميكانيكية حسب القياسات المطلوبة. في هذه الحالات فإن هؤلاء الحرفيين يقومون بتحريك أدوات القطع يدوياً لإخراج المطلوب. هذا قد يتطلب ساعات طويلة من العمل ومحدودية في دقة الناتج. بالإضافة أنها تحتاج إلى خبرات كبيرة قبل الوصول إلى مراحل متقدمة.

في حالة السي أن سي (CNC) فإننا نقوم بكتابة أوامر حركية للماكينة لتقوم بتنفيذها سطراً سطراً. سلسلة الأوامر هذه تدعى برنامج الـ G-Code. حركة الطاولة (التي تثبت عليها القطعة المشغولة)، وحركة أداة القطع وسرعة دوران أداة القطع والأوامر الثانوية مثل تغيير أداة القطع وتشغيل وإطفاء التبريد والشفط والتثبيث ستكون كلها متواجدة في هذا البرنامج. سيقوم البرنامج بإعطاء الأوامر بشكل تتابعي لجميع المحركات (Motors) والمتحكمات وإكسسوارات الماكينة للقيام بالعمليات التي طلبها المصمم. كتابة الأوامر تجعل من السهل تنفيذ عمليات معقدة بإستخدام الماكينة. على سبيل المثل يمكنك تشكيل مجسمات ثلاثية الأبعاد معقدة جداً بإستخدام برنامج معد مسبقاً.
